Jatin Bora was born on 25 April 1970 in Kacholukhowa village of Nagaon district, Assam, to Gakul Chandra Bora and Premolata Bora. From an early age, he developed a passion for performing arts and regularly participated in cultural events, Bhaona performances, and children's theatre programs. His childhood interest in acting laid the foundation for a successful career in Assamese cinema.
He completed his primary education at Marikalang Prathamik Vidyalaya and later studied at Dawson Higher Secondary and Multipurpose School in Nagaon. Along with academics, he pursued artistic training by earning a Diploma in Fine Arts from Kallol Art School, Nagaon. He also became a Visharad in Tabla and received training in Sattriya dance, which helped strengthen his overall performance skills.
Jatin Bora began his acting career in Assamese films with Uttarkaal in 1989. Although his initial years involved considerable struggle, his dedication and talent gradually earned him recognition. He also appeared in several Assamese television serials broadcast on Doordarshan, gaining valuable experience before establishing himself as a leading film actor.
