Natural Beauty and Trekking Experience
The waterfall is surrounded by greenery and offers a refreshing escape from the city. Reaching the main cascade involves an uphill forest walk of approximately 1.5-2 km, usually taking 30-45 minutes depending on trail conditions and walking pace. The route makes the visit appealing to adventure enthusiasts, but visitors should be prepared for uneven ground and limited facilities.
Natural pools can form around the waterfall, adding to its scenic appeal. However, water depth and currents can be unpredictable, particularly during heavy rainfall, so swimming should be approached with extreme caution.
Best Time to Visit
The monsoon and post-monsoon periods generally offer the strongest water flow and lush surroundings. The trail can become muddy and slippery during rainy weather, while the waterfall may have considerably less water during dry months.
How to Reach Ram Teng Waterfall
From Guwahati, travel towards Mirza and continue along the Chandubi route. The waterfall is located near Chandubi Lake and Umsur Waterfall. Since navigation apps may not identify the final approach accurately, ask local residents for directions before beginning the hike.
Wear sturdy shoes with good grip and carry drinking water, snacks and insect repellent. Check local trail conditions before setting out, and avoid entering deep pools or fast-flowing water, especially during the monsoon.
