Natural Beauty and Things to See
The waterfall is relatively modest in size, and its water flow varies with the season. During the rainy months, the cascade becomes more lively, while the surrounding vegetation creates an attractive setting for nature photography and short outdoor visits. A small pool forms near its base, although visitors should be careful around the rocks and descending paths, which may become slippery.
Deopani Waterfall is suitable for a brief stop while exploring the Chandubi region. Its less-commercialised surroundings appeal to visitors looking for a simple nature experience rather than developed tourist facilities.
Best Time to Visit
October to March is generally a comfortable period for visiting the area, with more manageable trails after the monsoon. Water flow can vary, so the waterfall may be less impressive during dry periods. Exercise extra caution during and immediately after heavy rain.
How to Reach Deopani Waterfall
The waterfall is approximately 60 km from Guwahati by road, depending on the route. Travel via Mirza, Barihat and Loharghat towards Chandubi Lake. A short walk of around five minutes may be required from the roadside stopping point. Mirza railway station is a nearby rail option, while Guwahati's Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport is the nearest major airport. Download offline maps before travelling, as mobile connectivity may be unreliable in forested stretches.
