Angling is the primary attraction, with local river systems supporting a variety of freshwater fish. The wider Dima Hasao region is known for species such as Golden Mahseer and Chocolate Mahseer, making seasonal fishing and angling events an important part of the area's adventure tourism potential. Sustainable fishing practices, particularly catch-and-release angling, are encouraged to help protect the river ecosystem and native fish populations.
The riverside environment also provides opportunities for photography, nature observation, camping and peaceful relaxation. Nearby areas such as Dehangi and Gunjung are being promoted for adventure activities including trekking, river-based recreation and other outdoor experiences. Visitors can also combine an angling trip with sightseeing at Haflong Lake, Panimur Waterfalls and the Umrangso reservoir region.
The preferred season for visiting is generally October to April, when rainfall has reduced, river conditions are comparatively calmer and outdoor activities are more comfortable. During the monsoon, strong currents and changing river conditions can make angling and riverside activities more difficult.
