Early Life
Tanushree Hazarika was born and brought up in Assam in a business-oriented family. From an early age, she developed an interest in leadership, communication, and entrepreneurship. Growing up in Northeast India gave her a deep understanding of the region's cultural diversity and untapped business potential. These experiences later inspired her to build enterprises that promote the identity, stories, and opportunities of the Northeast on national and global platforms.
Education
Tanushree Hazarika completed her Bachelor's degree in Business Management from the Boston University School of Management in the United States. After graduation, she worked with globally recognized financial organizations, including Fidelity Investments and Morgan Stanley. Her international education and corporate experience helped her gain expertise in business strategy, finance, marketing, and management before returning to India to pursue entrepreneurship.
Entrepreneurial Journey
After returning to Assam, Tanushree Hazarika joined her family business and became actively involved in developing Eclectic Northeast, a magazine highlighting the people, culture, tourism, business, and lifestyle of the eight Northeastern states. While working closely with clients, she recognized the increasing need for digital branding and communication services in the region.
This vision led to the establishment of Tattva Creations, a digital marketing, branding, communication, and media company dedicated to helping businesses build a strong presence in Northeast India. Under her leadership, the company expanded its services in advertising, digital campaigns, content creation, public relations, branding, and strategic communications for both public and private organizations.
Despite facing significant challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic, Tanushree successfully guided the company through business transformation by adopting innovative digital solutions and strengthening client engagement. Today, Tattva Creations continues to work with leading brands while expanding beyond Northeast India.
Contribution to Media and Cinema
Tanushree Hazarika has made remarkable contributions to media and filmmaking in Northeast India. She co-founded EastMojo, an independent digital news platform that covers news, politics, business, sports, culture, and current affairs across the eight Northeastern states.
She is also the Founder and Festival Director of the Brahmaputra Valley Film Festival (BVFF), one of the region's most prestigious film festivals. The festival provides filmmakers, artists, producers, students, and cinema enthusiasts with a platform to showcase their work, interact with industry experts, and promote regional cinema. Under her leadership, BVFF has grown into an important cultural event that attracts filmmakers and audiences from across India and abroad.
