Where Is Asia’s Second Largest Banyan Tree Located In Assam?

The second-oldest banyan tree, 207 years old in Asia is situated in Jalikhata village of Bajali district in Assam, which hosts the so-called Asia’s second largest banyan tree. Known for its massive size and centuries-old history, it is not just a natural marvel but also a symbol of Assam’s ecological and cultural heritage.
The banyan tree reportedly spans four bighas (roughly one acre), making it monumental in scale. The tree is estimated to be over 200 years old, with celebratory events marking its age each year.
