Detailed Notes
Manohari Gold Tea is known for its golden appearance, bright-yellow liquor, and meticulous handmade production process. Unlike regular black teas made from mature leaves, this premium variety is crafted from tiny tea buds, making it extremely rare and valuable.
Another top-performing Assam tea, Pabhojan Gold Tea, has also crossed the ₹1 lakh per kg mark at auction, placing it among the most expensive teas ever produced in India. These premium teas are mostly grown in select estates located in the Dibrugarh and Golaghat districts, regions well known for high-quality tea cultivation.
Before the ₹1.15 lakh record, Assam teas had already achieved major milestones, including ₹99,999 per kg in 2021 and ₹75,000 per kg in 2020, showing a steady rise in the value of luxury handmade teas from the region.
