How Many Blind Schools Are There In Assam?

Assam, one of the culturally rich states of Northeast India, has several institutions dedicated to the education and rehabilitation of visually impaired students. These blind schools play a vital role in offering accessible learning, Braille education, and life skill training to ensure that children with visual disabilities can pursue education on equal terms with others.

There are at least five known blind schools in Assam: Guwahati Blind School, Srimanta Sankar Mission Blind School, Jorhat Blind Institution, Moran Janamangal Adarsha Blind School, and Assam Shishu Andhra Vidyalaya. An additional school in Ghilamora is reported to be non-functional.
