Who Was Bagh Hazarika Of Assam?

Ismail Siddique, more famously remembered as Bagh Hazarika, was one of the most celebrated military commanders of the Ahom Kingdom during the 17th century. Renowned for his courage and loyalty, he played a pivotal role in defending Assam from repeated Mughal invasions.

Born into a humble background, Ismail Siddique earned the nickname “Bagh” (tiger) for his unmatched bravery on the battlefield. His leadership and strategic skills became instrumental in several battles, most notably during the historic conflicts between the Ahoms and the Mughals.
