The first Bodo drama was Nala Buha, written by Satish Chandra Basumatary. It was first performed in 1919 at the Boro Chatra Sanmilani's first conference in Kokrajhar.
Satish Chandra Basumatary is considered a pioneer of Bodo drama in the early phase of Bodo literature.
