Operation Bajrang was a major counter-insurgency military operation launched by the Indian Army in Assam in November 1990. The operation targeted the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA)—an armed separatist group demanding an independent Assam.
It was the first large-scale military operation against ULFA and marked a turning point in the insurgency movement in Northeast India.
