Named after the legendary social reformer Padmashree Chandraprabha Saikiani, the institute is committed to empowering women through quality technical education, skill development, and professional training.  In the Year 2004, Girls’ Polytechnic was renamed as Padmashree Chandra Prabha Saikiani Girls’ Polytechnic by the Govt. Assam. It is situated at the heart of the Guwahati city. It is well connected to both the railway station (3 Km.) and airport (28Km.). Moreover, Guwahati is the gateway to the North-Eastern Region of India and is well connected to all other sister states namely, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and Tripura.
