The first female actress in the first Bodo feature film, "Alayaron" (1986), was Rohila Brahma. She starred alongside Amar Narzary in the movie, which was directed by Jwngdao Bodosa. The film is based on the short story "Mwdwi arw Gwlwmdwi" by Nilkamal Brahma.
Rohila Brahma is also recognized as one of the earliest actresses who contributed significantly to the budding Bodo film industry and cultural storytelling through cinema.
Rupali Devi is also frequently credited as the pioneering actress who played a leading role in “Jwngwi Dimda” (The Son of the Jungle), considered the first full-length Bodo feature film released in 1987. Her work helped pave the way for women in Bodo cinema.
Both women hold special places in the history of Bodo cinema, inspiring future generations of actors and filmmakers.
