The Brahmaputra River, one of Asia's major rivers, is known by different names across the countries it flows through. In China, specifically in the Tibet Autonomous Region, it is called the Yarlung Tsangpo.
About Yarlung Tsangpo:
-
The Yarlung Tsangpo originates in the Angsi Glacier in western Tibet, near Mount Kailash.
-
It flows eastward across the Tibetan Plateau before taking a dramatic turn at the Yarlung Tsangpo Grand Canyon, the world’s deepest.
-
After entering Arunachal Pradesh in India, it becomes the Siang, and further downstream it is known as the Brahmaputra in Assam.
