The First Health University is Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH), formerly Berry White Medical School. The first medical college in Assam is the Assam Medical College, Dibrugarh, established in 1947.
It was the first medical college in Assam and the whole of Northeast India. It is the tertiary medical referral centre for upper Assam and areas in neighbouring states, including Arunachal Pradesh.
