Who Is The First Female Pilot Of Assam?

The first female pilot of Assam is Dhira Chaliha. She made history by becoming the first woman from Assam to join the Indian aviation sector, breaking gender barriers and setting a benchmark for aspiring female aviators from the region.

In April 1961, Dhira Chaliha Hazarika was awarded her flying wings, making her Assam's first woman pilot at the age of 21, and her first solo flight was from Borjhar to Tezpur in 1961. Today, she continues to inspire many women in Assam and Northeast India who may fear following their dreams.
