The Sibsagar Commerce College started its journey with a few students under the founder Principal Gouri Bhusan Baruah and it was flourished into full fledged college under the Principal Smt. Dipali Chaliha(Wife of Parag Chaliha). The college has celebrated its Silver Jubilee in 1994.
By the end of the year 2003, the college has crossed another milestone. The accepted the challenge for its institutional assessment and accreditation. The NAAC peer team awarded the college with 'B' grade. The college has started the process of accreditation work by framing an effective IQAC and a QAC. The yearly report has already sent to NAAC, Bangalore.
The College has achieved another milestone by enlisting its name in the scheme of Provincialisation of Government of Assam with effect from 01/12/2005.The college has also adopted the village Palahani for its all round socio-economic development under the Community Devolvement Cell of the college. The District Administration is actively supporting for its speedy development.
This college has WI-FI campus with total connectivity of internet.
The main aim of sibsagar commerece college are :
1. To improve higher education to the eligible youths in the discipline of commerce and allied subjects including professional courses.
2. To impart vocational training for livelihood through self entrepreneurship.
